The “Why Do You Do What You Do?” Project:
In the summer of 2004, activists Mardie Oakes and Tony Deifell began photographing people’s responses to the question: “Why Do You Do What You Do?” The answers to this question are greatly varied, funny and often inspiring.
Taking inspiration from this project the Tunxis Spring 2008 Photography 2 class has turned the camera on themselves to answer the question, “Why Do You Do What You Do?” The answers are not specifically about why we create art but also about what inspires us, what drives us or simply why we each get out of bed in the morning.
So, ask yourself, Why Do You Do What You Do?
