Summer News, Exhibitions and Workshops

Happy summery days to you all! I hope these longer days and warmer temps are filling you with the same child-like excitement summer always brings my way. In addition to summer cheer I’d like to share with you a few photo related endeavors I am involved in during the coming months which includes a return of my Encaustic Play Day and Ziatype workshops, exhibitions in Boston and Texas and publication in one of my favorite photographic periodicals…

On Saturday June 11th my Encaustic Play Day workshop will return to PhotoSynthesis, this is a beginner level workshop for those interested in experimenting with encaustic waxes and pigments over photographs or other forms of two-dimensional artwork. There are only a few slots left for this workshop so please register soon if you are interested. On July 9th my most popular workshop on the Ziatype process will be held at PhotoSynthesis. This is a one-day class where we take advantage of the humid New England summer weather to create these versatile and dramatic palladium based prints.

Approaching Walden

I am very excited to have been accepted into the Approaching Walden Professional Development Seminar through The Walden Woods Project. This July I will be joining 35 other educators from across the country who wish to include the philosophies of Thoreau and a sense of place into their teaching practice. The writings of Thoreau have been a wonderful guide to me since my college days and Walden Pond is one of my favorite grounding places. You can keep up with my journey through the Seminar via my Instagram and Facebook posts.I wish you all a lovely Summer!
